Listen again to the great Ralph McLean chatting to Hub founder Rob Ellen on BBC Radio Ulster about his quest to encourage concerts in peoples own homes, when the Medicine Show toured Ireland this year with Chuck Hawthorne and Libby Koch (featuring interview and session with them too) 35 minutes into the show.(click picture)
Seamus has been on our radar for a long time, but spending most of his time in Australia & America he rarely gets to play in the U.K. Luckily he is great friends with Mark Geary who played a sell-out show here a year ago, and the two of them are coming over specially for this show before heading back to Ireland for a few dates there.
He is a songwriter who, despite simple acoustic beginnings, is creating waves and building momentum like his songs, thanks to a unique voice, classic musical arrangements, poignant lyrics and great melodic hooks. He has been building a loyal following in America, with a US tour that took him and his band to Chicago and as far south as Kentucky. He also took part in the "Britbus Tour" of America. The tour took in several major cities right across the country, from LA to New York City. Seamus has also opened shows for the likes of The Alarm in America, in addition to the likes of Ocean Colour Scene, Reef, David Garza, Kasey Chambers, The Wonderstuff, Andrew Bird and David Mead. He was also asked to open on several dates for Dead Men Walking culminating in a capacity filled concert at Shepherds Bush Empire in London.
