From time to time we have Film Nights where the guest artist accompanies a silent movie instrumentally, before they do their own show. The Spa Pavilion is the oldest establish Live Music Venue in The Highlands and in its history was the focal point of The Victorian Spa's cultural life, through the decades becoming the focus of the Highland wide Ceilidh Dance world, through to the 60's when it became the focal point of youth culture with the regular dances attracting huge crowed from all over The Highlands and has hosted shows with The Who, and Status Quo, in their early years, the Beatles never did play The Pavilion but they did play Dingwall Town Hall against local advice not to go up against the Pavilion, they pulled 14 people played 30 minutes and every one including The Fab Four ended up going to The Pavilion for the rest of the night. The last show at The old Pavilion before it fell into disrepair was the Stiff Tour with Ian Jury, Nick Low and Reckless Eric etc. This beautiful building was refurbished for the new millennium and has since again hosted, big bands of the age like Casabian, Deacon Blue and The Kaiser Chiefs.

Recently Medicine Wheels have presented shows with The Proclaimers and Paul Barrere and Fred Tackett The Little Feat Guiatr Duo with more to follow watch this space..

Coffee Shop Sessions having a break

There was word of having a special Coffee Shop Sessions for Victoria Day on Saturday, Ive just talked to Mark from the Cafe were both of the same opinion, not to bother doing anything on Saturday and maybe keep it for doing something special ourselves later in the year.

2015 has been busy for This Frontier Needs Heroes. TFNH toured all over Florida and the Southeast in the spring and completed a full US tour this summer! With three studio albums under their belt, and two brand new singles, they are loving the road! Festival performances include Magnolia Fest, Hickey Fest, Gamble Rogers Folk Festival, Gram Parsons Guitar Pull, Stetson Kennedy Literary Landmark and One Spark. They are currently performing as a duo: songwriter Brad Lauretti and violinist Sadie Frederick. Originally from Brooklyn, NY they are now based in Jacksonville, FL.

We have toured Europe a few times and have played shows in England, Scotland, Wales, France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany. Festival appearances include End of the Road (UK), Reeperbahn (Hamburg), No Mean City (Glasgow), Incubate (Netherlands), and Festas de Pilar (Spain).

We are returning in September 2016 and would love to book some house concerts! We have released 3 albums and are recording a new one in November to be released next year. Would love to hear from you!

Thank You,

Brad + Sadie

"We're warning you now: You might fall in love with someone in the room during this band's set. So genuine, so commanding, so deceptively simple is TFNH's music that, before you know it, something inside you has shifted - suddenly your staring into someone else's eyes from across the bar." -Folio Weekly

Hi,

I was wondering if I could get a moment if your time to listen to something?
It's the title track from Terry Emm's new album. I am booking shows for Terry in 2014 and thought he might suit the music events you put on.

Terry's music has recently had airplay from legendary DJ Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2. Bob described Terry's music as 'excellent, excellent music' and has had him in for a live session. BBC 6 Music DJs Gideon Coe, Chris Hawkins and Tom Robinson have also spun his tracks regularly alongside many regional stations. Terry has recently shared the stage with the likes of; Amy Wadge, Richard Walters, Danny & The Champs, Jackie Leven, Judith Owen, Red Dirt Skinners and many others.
MOJO magazine have described his music as 'pastoral, romantic and lit musically by summer rays…no routine singer- songwriter offering but some-thing totally engaging in melody and lyric' in a 4 star review.
It'd be interesting to see what you think to his music and great if you could consider him for a show.
Thanks very much,
Theo Hall

Bonnie Bishop Looking for Gigs 2-15 August

Her soulful compositions and raspy voice outlive her personal reinvention as she finds driving rock rhythms in her guitar and piano, the latest addition to cadre of talent.  Bonnie wrote the new material with a simple notion in mind: You have to love yourself before you can fully love and be loved by anyone else.

Bonnie frequently writes with some of the most lauded songwriters in Nashville including Mike Reid, Al Anderson (NRBQ), Lee Roy Parnell, Pat McLaughlin and Seth Walker. “Not ‘Cause I Wanted To,” a song she co-wrote with Anderson, was recently recorded by her musical hero Bonnie Raitt for Raitt's "Slipstream" album released this past April -- a dream come true for Bishop.

Hi folks,

My name's Davey Byrne and im a musician who performs under the title of 'Another Disco Party' (My birhname was already taken!) . Im currently trying to put together a project with a good friend of mine, Grant George, of indie rock band 'The Barents Sea'.

Our plan is to hit the road in April, just ourselves and our guitars and play acoustic sets in as many places as humanly possible over the course of a week or so, and document the entire trip with the intention of putting together a documentary. We currently have a facebook page setup dedicated to the project here

 http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Another-Music-Documentary/194535060563714?v=info .

We're not looking for any financial gain from any of these events (although of course donations and help with expenses, even a hot meal, are welcome).

Id be really so so grateful if you can help out in any way, or point us in the direction of some people who would be interested in helping us out. Likewise if you could pass this information on to as many people as possible that would be fantastic.

Kind regards,

Davey Byrne
