Adam Burrows Bio

You’re going to remember Adam Burrows. You’re going to remember him the way you remember the first time you tried a craft beer with its intricate and complex flavors. It's hard to go back to watered down and mass- produced after experiencing that.

Adam is uncommonly good at what he does. Born and raised in Northeastern Ohio he’s managed to stand out from the crowd living in Nashville, TN; home to literally thousands of songwriters and players. During his eleven years there Adam has been nominated for The Deli Nashville's Best of 2012 Poll for Emerging Artists, had radio play on Nashville's radio station, Lightning 100, and has been a featured local spot-light artist numerous times. Out of over 300 musicians, Adam was a top eight finalist in Lightning 100's 2013 Music City Mayhem contest. He has played some of Nashville’s top venues, including Bluebird Cafe, Musicians Corner, and Music City Roots. Respected Nashville radio DJ, Wells Adams says, "Adam Burrows is one of the best lyricists in this town. I have lost count of the number of times I have featured him on my radio show and I’m itching to spin more of his records. He has played our showcases and left audience members and fellow musicians alike in awe. This guy is the real deal."

It’s not easy to put a finger on what makes it work. It’s not even easy to make comparisons with old standards like, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, or James Taylor, even though you’re really going to want to. There’s just something honest, fresh and unique about Adam’s Un-Pop, Un-Hipster style that resonates. Unpretentious and conversational, Adam invites the listener to pay attention to the beauty found in the here and now. His songs reflect his small town upbringing, celebrating everyday moments and embracing those that are fleeting. His lyrics, simply put, are perfectly imperfect. His characters remain with you like old friends and his recollections of hope and heartache are framed by percussive finger-picking and catchy melodies that will have you humming for days.

No stranger to the road, Adam toured, the US and Canada, in 2014, with internationally-known, Australian artist, Stu Larsen. Stu writes, "When Mike (Passenger) and I were on the road in North America last year, a guy came to me after a show in Washington, D.C. and gave me three of his road trip CDs which he thought we might like. We fell in love with one of them in particular, an album called Tall Tales by Adam Burrows. It quickly became a favourite and I’ve had a number of these tracks stuck in my head over the last six months. In fact, I loved these songs so much that I got in touch with Adam to tell him how much I loved his work and I ended up inviting him to tour with me through North America... I love how this world connects people." Yes, these kinds of things can really still happen.

This past year Adam recorded with the well-known Daytrotter Sessions and was selected for an official showcase at Folk Alliance International and at YouBloom LA. He was a finalist in the South Florida Folk Festival's song writing competition. His song "Right" was featured as a top-ten song of the week in Alternate Root Magazine. He has performed in some of the country's most respected venues, as well as in Sicily, Ireland, and Canada. Most recently, Adam spent the spring of 2015 in Germany performing on the Singer/ Songwriter circuit, Songs and Whispers.

His most recent album, Forward, was released in May of 2014, following up Tall Tales and Never One for Silence. Adam’s two most recent albums were recorded at Me and the Machine Studio in Nashville. He is currently working on his Fourth Album.
