- Jaime sings. He always has. Always wanted to. Except maybe when he was in the fourth grade and Sister Mary Eymard used to traipse him and his two brothers around St. Mary's and force them to harmonize to Maguire Sisters tunes. Fortunately not too long after that he discovered what was going on up the road from the old Rhode Island homestead. And from the first act he ever saw at the Newport Folk Festival, a very young Tom Paxton, he knew what he wanted to do. That.
And damned if that's not what he wound up doing. In a long career that has seen him come full circle from 60’s singer songwriter through his time spent as lead vocalist for southern cult rockers the Truly Dangerous Swamp Band and back to his folk roots, Jaime has always remained true to one thing ~ the song. He has just released his sixth solo album “fool”.
An engaging, emotional and energetic performer, Jaime tours extensively in the US and Europe and is now working to expand his touring to reach an even wider US audience and to see as much of the rest of the world as is possible, singing the whole way.
After having already toured from Mexico to San Francisco to Memphis and Atlanta in 2009, future plans include a mainstage appearancat the Kerrville folk festival, other festival appearance in Alaska and Utah, a tour of California, another tour of the Eastern US with stops in between. Jaime is also planning a spring 2010 tour of Italy, Germany and the UK, all in support of his new CD "crooked" being released in late May of this year.
He’s beginning to suspect that he might be into this music thing for the long run.
