About Me
Evocative eclectic Celtic American singer/composer Jillian LaDage crosses borders and centuries; reaching into the cultures surrounding the ancient Celts, presenting a rich musical tapestry.

In a performance career spanning nearly two decades, LaDage's eclectic Celtic music has been praised as "hauntingly beautiful' winning comparisons to Canadian Celtic singer Loreena McKennitt. Born in the rural state of Illinois, by the age of sixteen Jillian had already begun to produce, compose, perform and lead congregational services and events throughout the Midwest.

Jillian's debut album and her record label Tarith Cote's inaugural release, The Ancestry, December 2008, features nine new songs with an array of influences from Celtic to classical to Middle Eastern. From the intricately woven instrumental "Manzikert," to the hauntingly melodic, traditional folklore inspired strains of "Bonny Was The Lady," through the balladry of "Endless Knot" and the evocative rhythms of "Midsummer's Night," the rich musical tapestry journeys from the medieval sands of Turkey, to the Byzantine Empire, into the moors and legends of the ancient Celts, onward through temples of memory. With Ms. LaDage providing vocals, as well as accompaniment on piano and harp, the record features a diverse instrumentation that includes hurdy gurdy, guitar, clarinet, viola, violin, cello, uillean pipes, tabla, bodhran and more.

Self-managed, self-produced and the head of her record label, Tarith Cote, the album is available online through her official website, www.tarithcote.com, CDBaby, itunes, digistation and is also available for distribution to select retailers.

Jillian LaDage's new album, The Ancestry, released December 9

In time for the holiday season and the quiet contemplative winter months ahead, Tarith Cote released Jillian LaDage's, The Ancestry, on December 9. The highly anticipated debut album features nine new songs with an array of influences from Celtic to classical to Middle Eastern.

Ms. LaDage recorded the material for The Ancestry at Smart Studios, Madison, Wisconsin and the album was mastered by Adam Ayan, Portland, Maine at the legendary Gateway Mastering Studios.

"I came across a reference to the Celts in Asia Minor early in the eleventh century as the Mediterranean world and the world around them came to a crossroads and began to follow the migration of the many Celtic tribes as the Byzantine Empire declined and the Normans invaded the British Isles," Jillian explains. "The memories that had passed into the resting places of history, myth, legend, and forgotten happenings were events that drew me to the stepping stone of remembrance and lineage. In turn this became the foundation of the music, and as I experienced it, the common thread that held the Celts together through the opening of this great cultural Pandora's Box."

The CD, along with audio samples and a digital download version will be available online at the Official Website of Jillian LaDage and Ms. LaDage's label, Tarith Cote, www.tarithcote.com, as well as through select retailers December 9, 2008.

Perceptions Ours Issue 1 (Orignal release date November 7, 2008) By Jillian LaDage

As I pull together the past four years of traveling, researching, and writing my debut album, I sit looking out my office window at a gray stormy day. Winter is almost upon us as the album becomes ready for release and indeed Midwinter, as it once was called, comes for us on November 8th. As I have recently learned, it is when the sun reaches 15 degrees Scorpio in the circle of the zodiac in the sky and is one of the days known as "cross quarter days," the mid-point between the solstices and… Continue

Swedish leftwing swing band Cats and Dinosaurs looking for gigs in northen Germany october/november!

Hello!I am booking concerts for Swedish leftwing swing band Cats and Dinosaurs Germany tour, and it would be great to add some house concerts to the tour! I have been doing a lot of house concerts with other bands and I love it, so I hope to get a chance to try it also with this band. We are a bigger band than most house concert shows, but I think it would work well. I'd love to find out what that intimate house concert setting would do for our music! This tour is the release tour of our third…See More
