Lou Brown is beginning to build a following among folk and roots fans for her personal blend of country, folk, and pop.
Her live work includes a recent 21-date tour of Chicago and Iowa, headline shows to crowds of up to 200 people, and in 2008 she opened the Wimborne Folk Festival, and played on the main stage of Swanage Folk Festival to a packed tent. She's played several high profile support slots for artists such as Hazel O'Conner, Paul Young, Boo Hewerdine, Steve Tilston, Clive Gregson, and the legendary Albert Lee, where she entertained an audience of over 500 people, is supporting Megson, Julie Fowlis, John Lester, Bob Fox, Boo Hewerdine, and Jez Lowe in 2009, along with another 6 dates with Clive Gregson, as well as some great headline gigs including Otterton Mill in Devon and The Mowlem Theatre in Swanage.
Lou is also getting increasing airplay for her debut album, on both BBC, commercial, and internet radio stations, and was the featured artist in session on 'BBC Introducing...' in the South last December. She's currently recording a new album at Sonic Kitchen with producer Alan Hill (Basement Jaxx, Jack DeJohnette).
