KENT NIELSEN (DK) – Ukulele Folk Punk / Singer/Songwriter!

„Lyrics like a punch in the gut, painfully reminding you of your own wounds“. (Christian Elsrodt / Folker! Magazine)

Kent Nielsen is Danish but living in Lübeck (North Germany). He’s got a history as an author, percussionist, shoe shop clerk, record label guy, mail order honcho, night porter and ukulele player a. o.
But there’s one thing he’s been doing for ages – and that’s singing.
He just completed an old project – his first „solo album“. Roughly half of the roots rock colored Songs were written together with Stefan Kletetzka (DEEP RIVER), some are brand new while a couple Dates back to Kent and Stefan’s time in ONE BAR TOWN. Four covers were added, one by JOHN HARTFORD and another three originally written by GLEN CAMPBELL, EDDIE & THE HOT RODS and C.V. JØRGENSEN featuring Kent solo on the ukulele. Three more songs, drenched in Mod and 60s sounds, were written together with Helge Reich (JAM TODAY). The album also includes guest appearances from George Whitfield (FIDDLEBOX, ex-PRESSGANG) and Martin Wenk (CALEXICO, NADA SURF, JUDITH HOLOFERNES).

Dear Mick:

I See Hawks In L.A. are releasing two records in May: our own and an EP collaboration with the Good Intentions which turned out quite well. We plan on touring UK/Ireland this summer.

It's a bit of short notice (our agent Bob Butler of Grapevine has sadly passed away), but if you have a slot for us we'd love to play one of your concerts. Our tour window is July through mid-August, though we could head over earlier if that's when most of the shows are happening.

Rob Ellen will give us a hearty recommendation! We've done 3 or 4 tours of UK/Ireland, have been in the Euro Americana chart top ten 3 times, and have Geraint of G Promo PR on board. He got us great press and BBC appearances last time and will be invaluable in promoting live shows. My email is below, can send you our bio and sneak preview of our forthcoming CDs.

Here is a listening link to all seven of our previous releases and live shows: https://iseehawksinla.bandcamp.com/

Thanks!

Hello Mick!

I'm Joanna Weston, an English singer-songwriter originally from London (lived in Guildford for almost 10 years) before heading to The Netherlands, which is where I'm now based.

I would love the chance to come back to the UK in 2016 and play some intimate house concerts and wonder if you are still hosting?

In 2014 I released my debut studio album ‘INSIDE OUT’ which is a collection of 'feel good' songs you’ll want to hear time and time again:

https://joannaweston.bandcamp.com/album/inside-out

.. and here is a video link to 'Amy' taken from my earlier EP 'Pieces of the Puzzle', which tells the story of life long friendship: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OInbbsv9CY

Enjoy listening and I look forward to hearing from you about all the possibilities - and if you need any more information, just let me know!

Best wishes,

Joanna

Hi,

It’s Susan writing from the office of Eric Taylor and Blue Ruby Music.
Cited as one of today's top performing songwriters, Eric tours throughout the U.S. and Europe every year. I’m working on his fall European tour and want to see if we can arrange a concert in your house concert series.

His UK tour timeframe is September 30 to October 13, with October 4th working the best. Would anything in this timeframe work for you?
I'm including a few links below, and there's a lot of good information on our Blue Ruby Music web site: www.bluerubymusic.com.
I hope we can arrange something, I look forward to hearing from you,
Thanks,
Susan

Sample videos are available at www.tomshed.com .  Contact us at tom@tomshed.com  to schedule a concert at your venue.

Hi Mick,

I’m the manager of piano-prog-pop band yourgardenday. Last year we organised a successful house concert and alternative venue tour and we’re looking to expand and do the same this summer. We play our concerts as you do, with no mobiles and no talking.

We are looking for dates throughout the year, so later would be good if the summer is fully-booked.

You can hear links to our music at https:www.soundcloud.com/yourgardenday and https:www.youtube.com/yourgardenday, and find out more about us on Facebook (https:/www.facebook.com/yourgardenday) or at our own website (currently under construction) www.yourgardenday.co.uk.

Please note although we have some amplified gigs in our videos, we play largely unamplified (except the electric piano unless a real piano is available). We usually perform as a three piece but a two-piece set-up is also available.

Please let me know if you require anything else, if there is an application process I need to complete, or if you would like to see some testimonials from previous happy hosts.

Kind regards, Kaye, on behalf of Robin Coward
