LIVE SHOW REVIEW FROM WESTERN CANADIAN MINI-TOUR

When Orit Shimoni, the face of Little Birdie, first grazed the stage at Inglewood’s Ironwood family day evening, she shared stories of adventure and laughter with jokes which ranged from her childhood to missionaries. There was an immediate atmosphere of comfort, as if she and the crowd were simply old friends sharing on a cold prairie evening. A small, intimate crowd gathered for the witty humor…

New Album Review for Album # 4 'Bare Bones'! *from Americana.UK

Minimalist music to maximum effect

  • ‘Bare Bones’ sums up Little Birdie’s latest record remarkably well. This is an album stripped down to its core, where every track is played on one acoustic guitar with only a single voice laid upon it. Yet the simplicity of the music does nothing to diminish the enjoyment for…

A Life of it's Own

Happy to announce, that in a very delayed search on that massive interweb.. I discovered that "I Left the City Burning,'' title track of our latest album, has charted on college radio in Canada, namely, in Alberta.. but doing well in Quebec and Ontario as well.

Proud and happy that despite my time in Europe.. the album is alive and well in Canada. Thanks to all the radio people who spin the song!

Right on!

Charmed by her honest story-telling and songwriting, and in full of

admiration of her travels, I was glad to reconnect with her again last

week. Two independent female songwriters with bands that are great but

can't travel full time, we have a lot in common, and the parts we… Continue

Hi Orit,
Thanks for the comment. Old Stanley Jordan tune - don't hear it too much these days. Nat Cole's done it, more recently Diana Kral...and then that Tom&Jerry version which shouldn't be too hard to beat :-)
All the best with your endeavours

You should come play at the Belladrum Festival in the Highlands in August it's a fun friendly festival, google it, Rob Ellen helps organise it and he'd be the best person to ask, just ask him he's super friendly :-)
