„Lyrics like a punch in the gut, painfully reminding you of your own wounds“. (Christian Elsrodt / Folker! Magazine)

Kent Nielsen is Danish but living in Lübeck (North Germany). He’s got a history as an author, percussionist, shoe shop clerk, record label guy, mail order honcho, night porter and ukulele player a. o.
But there’s one thing he’s been doing for ages – and that’s singing.
He just completed an old project – his first „solo album“. Roughly half of the roots rock colored Songs were written together with Stefan Kletetzka (DEEP RIVER), some are brand new while a couple Dates back to Kent and Stefan’s time in ONE BAR TOWN. Four covers were added, one by JOHN HARTFORD and another three originally written by GLEN CAMPBELL, EDDIE & THE HOT RODS and C.V. JØRGENSEN featuring Kent solo on the ukulele. Three more songs, drenched in Mod and 60s sounds, were written together with Helge Reich (JAM TODAY). The album also includes guest appearances from George Whitfield (FIDDLEBOX, ex-PRESSGANG) and Martin Wenk (CALEXICO, NADA SURF, JUDITH HOLOFERNES).

“I've always been fortunate to work with some extremely gifted songwriting partners. Hopefully we‘ve managed an album as diverse and varied as I prefer them.” (Kent Nielsen)

Dear Russell:

I See Hawks In L.A. are releasing two records in May: our own and an EP collaboration with the Good Intentions which turned out quite well. We plan on touring UK/Ireland this summer.

I know it's a bit of short notice for you (our agent Bob Butler of Grapevine agency has sadly passed away), but if you have a slot for us we'd love to play one of your concerts. Our tour window is mid-July through mid-August, though we could head over earlier if that's when most of the shows are happening.

We've done 3 or 4 tours of UK/Ireland, have been in the Euro Americana chart top ten 3 times, and have great representation for press/radio in Geraint of G Promo PR. He got us great press and BBC appearances last time and will be invaluable in promoting live shows. I'll be happy to send you our bio with listening links, and sneak preview of our forthcoming CDs. thanks, hope you are great, Paul lacques@sonic.net www.iseehawks.com

Hi Russell,

Hope your good.

Im working with a band called A Different Thread who are looking to book in a house concert tour. They would love to play Llyn Crafant if possible!

Their stuff is below and it would be great to see what we can do together.

A Different Thread - Released on 15th April

Bio: ‘A Different Thread’ consists of travelling singer and songwriter Robert Jackson, and versatile classical cellist Isaac Collier. With a distinctive voice, bluesy harmonica and rhythmic guitar picking,  Jackson’s songs cleverly weave together adventure, bitter romance and synchronicity with “thought provoking, well crafted lyrics” (Gordon Giltrap). Collier’s enchanting and often improvised playing gives this folk duo a refreshing and impulsive edge.

Let me know your thoughts on the music.

Thanks

Chris

Hi Russell,

I'm Robert Lane, a singer songwriter based in Birmingham, UK. I would like to put myself forward to play a house concert for you.

My new EP Ends and Starts came out on March 21st through Fish Records.

Here is a short bio;

Robert Lane is a singer songwriter based in Birmingham. His most recent EP/Mini Album Ends and Starts was released via Fish Records on the 21st of March 2016 and launched with a performance at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. The lead track, My Love's In Deep, has been featured on several radio stations as well as Fatea Magazine's summer showcase session and received a tweet of recommendation from Telegraph Music. He was recently a Laurel Canyon featured artist, performed at Fatea Magazine's Busk Love Folk Festival and embarked on a tour in support of Ends and Starts which has visited venues across UK as well as a first trip to Germany in April and a return to Germany in October.

In September 2016 he toured the UK as support act for Nashville in the Round, a Songwriters' Circle featuring Jenn Bostic, Sarah Darling and Kyshona Armstrong.

In August 2013 he was selected to attend a song writing retreat/course with Kinks front man Ray Davies.

"Robert Lane attended my songwriting course at Dartington in 2013. Robert responded well to composition and exercises given. As the course became more intensive his progress was excellent throughout. I am pleased to recommend Robert to continue his music and develop his writing so that he can reach his full potential.” Ray Davies songwriter and frontman of The Kinks

"a talented songwriter and singer. EP Ends and Starts is full of deceptively simple songs with clever and witty lyrics across a range of styles." R2 Magazine

"Check out the vibrant new song from Robert Lane." Telegraph Music

"A great talent to work with." Neil King, Fatea Magazine and Busk Love Folk Festival

Thank you very much for your time, I look forward to hearing from you. You can contact me on 07539229123 and info@robertlanemusic.co.uk
