If host are you an open house concert? ie Can non members apply?
"The Common House" is the common house for a 12 family commune called "Plantagen" in Næstved, Denmark. It's the building where we cook, eat and meet.
The town of Næstved (pop. 42,588) is an hour and a quarter southwest of Copenhagen on Zealand. It is on the same train line between Copenhagen and Hamburg/Berlin. It's also 20 minutes off the highway to and from Germany and to and from western Denmark (Fyn & Jutland) to such cities as Odense, Aarhus & Aalborg.
If you contact us about possibly playing here, send a link to your music, your website and your requested date(s). We will get back to you shortly to let you know if we want to do a show or not. If it works out hosting your act, you would be playing in our dining space. We'll move the tables aside to accommodate chairs and floor seating. There would be room for up to 100 people.
Friday evenings will be preferred. But any concerts between Tuesday and Friday will include dinner at 6pm (for the band only) and you are welcome to sleep upstairs on the second floor after the show for one night (the band only). You will need to have your own bedding, sleeping bags, pads, pillows, towels, etc. There is a bathroom.
There is no PA so if you need one, you have to bring your own.
We will request donations for you or you are welcome to pass the hat. If folks don't have cash, they can mobile pay one of us and we can Paypal you any funds to your Paypal account. You are welcome to sell your music and merchandise as well.
Your audience will be those of us living here, our families and friends we invite and our immediate neighbors who we'll let know with a small flyer in their mailboxes. We would need to know in advance, the number of any other people you invite to the show.
We will let people know to bring their own drinks and snacks. Alternatively, you are welcome to bring a bag of ground coffee (and tea) and brew it here to sell. If so, be sure to bring some milk. You can also bring popcorn to pop here, cookies, sodas, juice boxes, etc. to sell. Someone will sell for you while you are playing.
We look forward to hearing from you.

I am a songwriter from the States coming over to play for the first time behind the release of my new EP and album. I'm currently booking in Europe for Jan 12-29. I'd love to come play at your club or open for anyone you have already booked. Though I have toured extensively in the States, it's my first time across the pond, and I would be so happy just to play and make some new connections with fellow folksingers and listeners! My blog post on European House Concert Network is linked below, and that has links to my music. (My website is below, too.)
Unfortunately, due to travel circumstances I am not able to bring my own PA; however, I love playing to smaller audiences without amplification and have done so many times.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration and I hope to hear from you! Happy holidays,
I’m constantly looking for gigs and any tips would be greatly appreciated! Everything's of interest: Club gigs, open mike nights, festivals, house concerts, prisons, funerals, baptisms - weddings not so!
KENT NIELSEN (DK) – Ukulele Folk Punk / Singer/Songwriter!
"Echoes of JON LANGFORD and RYAN ADAMS. There's something more immediate about this stripped-down version of Kent Nielsen". (R2 Magazine (UK) / Peter Tomkins)
Kent Nielsen is Danish but living in Lübeck (North Germany). He’s got a history as an author, percussionist, shoe shop clerk, record label guy, mail order honcho, night porter and ukulele player a. o. But there’s one thing he’s been doing for ages – and that’s singing. At the end of 2016, he completed an old idea – his first „solo album“. Roughly half of the roots rock colored songs were written together with Stefan Kletetzka (DEEP RIVER), some were brand new while a couple dated back to Kent and Stefan’s time in ONE BAR TOWN. Four covers were added, one by JOHN HARTFORD and another three originally written by GLEN CAMPBELL, EDDIE & THE HOT RODS and C.V. JØRGENSEN featuring Kent solo on the ukulele. Three more songs, drenched in Mod and 60s sounds, were written together with Helge Reich (JAM TODAY). The album also includes guest appearances from George Whitfield (FIDDLEBOX, ex-PRESSGANG) and Martin Wenk (CALEXICO, NADA SURF, JUDITH HOLOFERNES).
The following tour took Kent through: Germany, Switzerland, England, Denmark, Belgium and the Netherlands. Incl. festivals such as: Rebellion Blackpool (three years in a row), Kirstyfest 2017 (UK), Thinking Pink Festival (UK), Punk Rock BBQ (UK), Rebellion Amsterdam (NL), Nostalgurato Fest (DK, twice) and the Winterswijk Ukulele Hotspot (NL), just to name a few. More countries are being planned for 2019.
„Between the HOT RODS and CALEXICO." (Chris Elstrodt, Folker Magazine)
Out in November, his autobiographical memoir: 'How I didn't turn out a dancer' (A co-production between the German Ventil Publishing House and Ox-Fanzine, ISBN 978-3-95575-103-6).
Topical digital single: ‚Star Wars Diaries‘ (Viking Wreckchords)
I am new to the house concert scene and would love to perform a house concert in the Denmark in spring/summer so I am flexible with dates. I am a musician & and music therapist from Ireland and through my experiences of travel, education in both ethnomusicology and music therapy my music covers a lot of genres such as reggae, folk and Khoomi (Mongolian throat singing). My live shows incorporate techniques of mindfullness and self-inquiry which can develop a dialogue between myself and the audience related to the human condition, shamanism, music and healing and the relationship between music, self awareness and self- discovery.
