The Slim Panatella's play home grown hand rolled Highland Hokum original Blues on Guitars and violins made from wine and cigar boxes, banjos made from warming pans and dog bowls, and bass guitars made from bicycle parts and tea chests. The work and songs of master up-cycler Don Cigarbox Jack formed the focus of an exhibition at Ig:LU in Inverness and was the venue for Cigarbox Dons first album "The Very Dab" . Artist and musician Don Jack, makes and plays these unusual instruments. These have led Don into magical adventures, playing with Rob Ellen on tea-chest bass (and an ever changing number of guests “Extra Slim Panatellas”) as The Slim Panatellas.The Slims play in some unusual venues from a cigarbox guitar festival in France to The Scottish Parliament. 
We were invited opening this Festival on October 6th 2012, since then we have returned every year for The BSA Festival in France.

This year we were invited to perform in The Scottish Parliament for The Abolition 2,000 conference, we also played The Traditional Festival In Edinburgh and The Belladrum Festival in The Highlands, we have been invited to open up this years Blazing In Beauly Festival in October and are travelling to Portugal for the first time in December for The JDO Winter Gathering.
