The European House Concert Hub

The place for concert hosts, guests and artists to network

Listen again to the great Ralph McLean chatting to Hub founder Rob Ellen on BBC Radio Ulster about his quest to encourage concerts in peoples own homes, when the Medicine Show toured Ireland this year with Chuck Hawthorne and Libby Koch (featuring interview and session with them too) 35 minutes into the show.(click picture)

About Me
TONY COX
Concert Acoustic Guitarist

Born in Zimbabwe and later moving to South Africa, Tony Cox is one of the world's uniquely gifted guitar players. His repertoire of original instrumental guitar music forged at the Southern tip of Africa is at once new and refreshingly devoid of the usual clichés one finds with solo guitar players on the circuit today.

Cox, a multiple award-winning recording artist, performs world-wide at festivals, arts centres, music venues, folk clubs, universities, schools, colleges, house concerts and rural touring schemes.

Using stories, anecdotes and much wry humour, Cox has that special knack of engaging all his audience, drawing them right into the heart of the tune he is playing. This stands true for a wide range of audience types; from finger-in-the-ear traditionalists to fourteen-year-old heavy metal addicts and on through to classical purists. The resulting effect is the same on all his audience, that is, standing ovations and howls for more from the UK to mainland Europe to North America.

PRESS

'The strength and precision of what emerges from this man's Mervyn Davis guitar is quite breathtaking' Andrew Smith, The Press and Journal, Scotland, Jan 2010

'Accomplished acoustic guitar players are everywhere these days. There's a whole calendar of festivals dedicated to them and as they mingle and influence each other, it's becoming increasingly difficult for one to arrive with a totally individual 'voice'. Tony Cox, however, may just have managed this. His guitar style has as distinctive a South African tang, with added tones from his native Zimbabwe, as his accent' - Rob adams, The Herald, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Scotland - 2009

Looking for house concerts for piano trio January 4-8.

I'll be traveling in Northern Europe with my traditional jazz and American roots music piano trio in early January. Below is a link to a video where you can see what we do. you can email me directly at jaredengel<at>gmail<dot>com.  Cheers!…See More
