About Me
Carl and Penny having spent a whole lot of life on separate paths are now weaving in and out of each other's in a most magical way. Carl's multi-instrumentalist abilities along with his sinfully soulful voice provide the perfect bed for penny's pure tones and exacting story-telling. They soothe and surprise, inspire and encourage. It's a simply beautiful and beautifully simple thing.

Looking for gigs JULY, AUGUST 2011...:)

We're back! :) And actually REALLY coming to UK/Europe this time, not that like time last year where everything went pear-shaped...

London on July 15th, Vienna on July 25th, Germany first two weeks of August and looking at Spain in last 2 weeks of August (or Ireland depending on the pull of the power of music...)

Yippee!

Penny, what a beautiful message you left me back in February. I apologize I wasn't on here to see it. I just saw it last night and wanted to say thank and nice to meet you! Stay in touch. warmest, Chris

Hi Penny,
Thank you so much for adding me as a friend and for leaving such a lovely comment. I´m looking forward to listening to your songs when I get a moment to myself. We´ve been battling horrendous storms and flooding in our wonderful, sunny Spain! I see you´re from Australia, well, what a coincidence that we currently have a lovely family from Brisbane staying in our guest accommodation at this moment! I look foward to being a musical mate with you. Happy New year, Amy

That's a shame - but a toss up between Ireland and Italy? Well let me think about that for a second .... no contest really!!!
Ireland's not really great for Christmas - usually wet and miserable and very commercial - although there are one or two great festivals - the Frankie Kennedy weekend over New Year is for the real trad heads who want to study up on their playing and hear great bands like Altan ... Germany's fabulous for Christmas - much more traditional than here.
Anyway, keep me posted on your travel plans.

That sounds like a great idea Penny and Carl. At the moment it's looking like we'll be around for most of June - in fact we're planning to be recording at that time - we have our own studio here. Do you know your itinerary yet? OH I've just spotted your Greece post. You can email me at fil@filcampbell.com

A New Jess Wayne Review - Somehow Overlooked from 3 Years Ago

Just found this from the "Miews". I think it says some interesting things, particularly about ageism in music and the treatment of older singer songwriters. I think my feelings were hurt when he or she only gave a "6" on Vocals... but as I read on, not so bad in context. :) JESS WAYNE – RIDE THE RIVER (MUSIC REVIEW)RATING: 7.5 / 10Genre: Rock, Blues, AmericanaSongwriting: 8.5 | Music: 8 | Vocals: 6Location: Glendale, CAWebsite: www.jesswayne.comFor fans…See More
