The building was quaint, almost angelic; I guess because it was in an old Methodist Church. It was the new Texas Music Barn in Linden, Texas; where the Texas Music Awards were being held and it was a bit different from where it was held the last time we were nominated back in 2008, but it was still just as glamorous and wonderful. Every drop of colored water followed direction well, as the artist wisped his brush up and down with loose strokes. Then he’d return the brush for more shades of blue and red, after a quick spin in the rinse water. It’s incredible, watching the end result of a watercolor painting spread into view. I’m thankful for the breath I take and for all the nights I lay awake, counting my heartbeats and my blessings; for it means that although I can’t sleep, I am alive and I am so very grateful for it.

Musicians, artists... friends; it was humbling as we accepted the award for Vocal Duo at the Texas Music Awards 2012...but we don't accept it alone.
