A Texas Style Grammys

The building was quaint, almost angelic; I guess because it was in an old Methodist Church. It was the new Texas Music Barn in Linden, Texas; where the Texas Music Awards were being held and it was a bit different from where it was held the last time we were nominated back in 2008, but it was still just as glamorous and wonderful. They had all things TEXAS decorating that fine Music Barn. There were southern-smiling volunteers to welcome you, Texas wild flowers and tin stars just about…See More

The Artist...

Every drop of colored water followed direction well, as the artist wisped his brush up and down with loose strokes. Then he’d return the brush for more shades of blue and red, after a quick spin in the rinse water. It’s incredible, watching the end result of a watercolor painting spread into view. How did he manage to capture the expressions and feelings we had? He must have felt what we were feeling, because as I stood there and gazed in wonderment at his works of art, I felt everything all…See More

Giving Thanks...

I’m thankful for the breath I take and for all the nights I lay awake, counting my heartbeats and my blessings; for it means that although I can’t sleep, I am alive and I am so very grateful for it.I’m thankful that the lines around my eyes are starting to show just a little more, because it means that I’ve been laughing a lot more… and I’m cool with that.Of course, this goes without saying, but I love to say it, I am very thankful for my Parents and how they brought me and my siblings up. Good…See More

About Me
We are a singer/ songwriter duo from Texas, touring and traveling around the US and Europe. We absolutely love playing the House Concert / listening rooms, as (of course) it's an honor to be able to share our music in a room where we can be more intimate with our audience. It's more enjoyable for everyone.

What the Press Says...

"This is one of those groups that you never get tired of listening to."
--Ivan Nossa, Muses Muse

about "The Station"
" It's a disc you want in your player when you have company over... and everything has to be perfect"

Piccoli gioielli tutti da scoprire.... che racchiude in sé splendidi tesori musicali che aspettano solo di essere portati alla luce. Gli ShAnnie sono un duo formato da Shan Kowert e Annie Acton..."
-- Roberto Di Giovanni, Folk Bulletin
Translation...

Musicians, artists... friends; it was humbling as we accepted the award for Vocal Duo at the Texas Music Awards 2012...but we don't accept it alone.

We believe so much that this is a synchronized effort, so we gratefully and totally accept the award on all our behaves, and share it with all our musician friends here and across the seas.

May we all continue to sing and travel the road in Harmony with one another... for that's what makes us winners.

Thanks for the support!
