If you haven’t hosted a House Concert yet, please make it a new year’s resolution!
Why not invite your favourite independent musician to play for your friends family and his fans in your front room, I’ll be surprised if he/she won’t show up sometime this year and play for you, let me know about it and if The Medicine Show Radio Moose Mobile is loose is near enough we’ll come and broadcast it too. If you would like to help keep the wheels on the Hub and on The Moose become a patron at
One place that is high on my list of must see places is Antarctica. I would love to experience this fragile and awe inspiring landscape first hand.
A friend of mine Kirk Watson (a seasoned Antarctica veteran) is filming his experiences of life from the UK base at Rothera over the next year. If you ever wanted to see what an Antarctic Winter would be like and to find out what people who live there get up to check out Kirk Watson’s blog on life in Antarctica. The blog covers not only… Continue
Well, after a very successful Off the Tracks Festival gig in Derby, I'm pleased to get this little video of a special performance in Canada on YouTube. Please do have a look and laugh your head off. Yes, Rob and I fought valiantly over this song in the… Continue
Last night we had a great gig of Canadian American Ray Bonneville in our livingroom. About 15 people did go exiting during the songs. Ray is a great performer, his lyrics mostly have a message in it and his guitar playing is unique. He shows the art of not to fill in too much. That's why his way of performing is relaxed and a great pleasant to hear. We like to have Ray back in… Continue

Since october last year I am the granddad of my first born grandchild. Her name is Rose. And as you can aspect, I adore her. It is great to see how a little human being grows up into a fine little child. Last week she became her first teeth, without crying, simple like that, amazing. Such a wonder of nature, makes you think about your own life. From being a child to being a granddad now. It gives me a warm and satisfied feeling. Being a granddad… Continue
An incredible honor, I think. Please view the video for album track "What You've Seen", produced by Greek artist Katie Mavromati.
The song is about my time in Malaysia. I was there when the tsunami in 2004 swept away people from the beaches around Penang Island, particularly on the Northern Coast. There in Georgetown, I was in the CHEONG FATT TZE MANSION, a… Continue
The beauty of a music review is that words of praise sustain an artist when little else is coming in materially. Don't you find? While a critical mass is building, sometimes you're just slogging away at it: making calls, sending emails (last night for me it was an all night effort to contact every Arab/Palestinian filmmaker I could find online, and what an adventure that was).
The randomness of this business never ceases to amaze me, at least in the formative stages of building one's… Continue
There is a growing concern amongst some fellow performers on the Glasgow music scene that they are continually being taken advantage when it comes to playing live.
The problem is the overwhelming majority of original music venues in Glasgow and it seems the rest of the UK do not pay the artists for doing so. This often undervalues the service and entertainment that is being provided.
Whilst it is important to have a platform for artists starting out to gain experience and… Continue

I'm just home from a wonderfull time seranading with the strains of my harp at 'Mellon House' which is situated at the Ulster American Folk Park Omagh, N. Ireland. I had settled myself down close to the turf fire to play and sing some old folk songs.
The audience were attentive and as I engaged with them, they chatted away to me asking quite a few questions on the history of the harp, how long it takes to master it and where the actual sound comes from when I… Continue
Hello. I'm undertaking my first tour shortly of the UK and will be performing at a house concert in York on June 11 with Tim Whelan of the band Mirrorhead. I'm in Scotland with a few shows under my belt. I played in Newcastle, supporting Laurie Lewis at the Jumpin' Hot Club, did a show at Liquid Ship in Glasgow where I was joined onstage by an american fiddler named Hope Hoffman who I'd met earlier that night, and last night I played a house concert at my friend Ben's flat in Edinburgh. I did… Continue

Last Thursday, we hosted our first house concert. The artist was American guitarist Walter Strauss.
I have to say, it was a little nerve-racking wondering how many people would show up. We had had quite a few people say they were coming, but all the same we couldn't be sure until the time came. As it was, we needn't have worried; we had a good crowd (about 25).
I had a great day today. My daily work went very good. I was relaxed and concentrated. But sometimes there are some day's I am happy to foget Yes a day as today i'm happy to have a daily job. A human being needs regulaty in his life, a daily job can help very much in the rhythm of life. So I hope the people who are unemployed find some dailywork soon, to help them to find a healthy life rhythm. If you are unlucky in finding some work, look around and… Continue
Interesting times working on the new album, coming thursday 14th of May back in the studio again with my good friend Gerben Klazinga who is one of the best musicians I've ever met ( Knight Area).
Hopefully the album will be ready this summer!
Yesterday I was at present when the talented Merel Hutten introduced her new album "Take a walk" in Amsterdam Credo, she performed several numbers of the CD and she is great!
We're doing a show in february… Continue
This is a great idea, - not an entirely new one (healthy concerts got in there first i believe) but nonetheless we love the idea of turning up at somebody's home and doing a performance for people who are interested in hearing our music and a bunch of their mates, and actually having the chance to meet them personally in a relaxed enviroment. Buuuuuuuuuut an it's a sizeable butt as they say, is there enough of a demand for it from ordinary folks who have the time on their hands and are… Continue

My name is Lorelei, there's a pile of information about me on my sites and on my http://www.myspace.com/loreleiloveridge site. I won't repeat it here.
Suffice to say, I'm on a projected 200-date tour of the UK in 2009-2010, to dig up the roots of my ancestors and to carry on my journey as an inquiring traveller and as someone who deeply and truly wants to know what makes us tick. As I share my stories and songs, I am equally intrigued by the… Continue
After reading our today local newspaper, I had my moment again. Maybe you reconize such a moment, in wich you feel like a victim. A victim of the freedom of journalists. These people are given you different kinds of feelings. But in my case, most of the time after reading the local newspaper I feel unhappy. I wonder how these people feel after finishing their dayjob. I hope they don't feel satisfied. I hope they do not sleep at nights. I hope they… Continue
