If you haven’t hosted a House Concert yet, please make it a new year’s resolution!
Why not invite your favourite independent musician to play for your friends family and his fans in your front room, I’ll be surprised if he/she won’t show up sometime this year and play for you, let me know about it and if The Medicine Show Radio Moose Mobile is loose is near enough we’ll come and broadcast it too. If you would like to help keep the wheels on the Hub and on The Moose become a patron at
My last solo tour of Italy in April/May 2010 was a great success and I'll be back in Europe in April 2011 to do some more shows. I'd like to come to UK to follow up the release of my Open Tuning Chord Book For Guitar (through Music Sales) and play some house concerts.
Would like to play on the continent as well so please get in touch… Continue
Hello again,
The Music Industry has definitely changed! Established acts, record companies, publishers etc. are all intent on guarding what they have achieved, the inner sanctum has been ring fenced to allow those within to secure access to airplay, Tv, Distribution and such. Writers used to be able to mail (solicited or unsolicited) songs off to Publishers and Artists and have a chance of getting the song listened to. Now Publishers have their quota of songs and writers already, they are… Continue

Hello again, well I've just come back home from a four hour meet with Viv Thomas; Cameraman/film maker, very interesting and we are going to make some vids. The first will take place on Sat September 11th, we do a video of me performing 'Waiting' in some kind of Rural setting; very simple, followed by an interview.
I'll put the mp3 of 'Waiting ' up on here in a few minutes so you can take a listen, If anyone has any ideas let me know?

After many wonderful house concerts in the US last May we finally performed our first UK one recently with 'Lancashire House Concerts', at Fairacre Farm near Preston.
The venue is wonderful - a very intimate 20+ seat auditorium with amazing acoustics and a great atmosphere. All the ingredients of a perfect house concert. Mark and Linda Wignall made everybody feel welcome as they arrived (to music from Mark's original 1950s 45rpm vinyl jukebox).
Hello Everyone, What a great site this is!
It's raining outside so I thought I'd take a bit of time out to send cds off to Reviewers and Radio Stations. The 'Play something we know' cd is going great, I've had airplay on Frank Hennessey's 'Celtic Heartbeat' show on BBC Wales, he's played a couple of songs and true to form I missed them both, ah well hopefully there will be more.
I've stripped my Live set-up down to either me solo or me playing with Liz (my Accordionist/Djembe Player)… Continue

I'm in LA for 2 gigs tomorrow and then back home for a bit before leaving to meet the other half of Betsy & the Frenchman (dobroist Pierre Bastide) in Wichita Labor Day weekend for a tour. I've posted some of our songs, and we're adding a ton more new material to our repertoire. Pierre is flying in from Paris and I from San Francisco, and I'll drive while he sleeps off jet-lag as quickly as possible.

LET THE COWBOY RIDE: An Ode to Cowboy Jack Clement
...
I don't know why but Cowboy Jack Clement has been on my mind lately.
I made music in Nashville for a quarter century and one thing that I learned in Twang town was, "Never Meet Your Heroes". They do not live up to your fantasies...any of them. I met too many of those poor megalomaniacs but I never met Jack Clement and maybe that's why I've been thinking about him. I… Continue
