I'm starting to build our next tour of Europe, starting with a venue we were very sorry to miss out on last time - The Stables in Boskoop, hosted by Johnny Verger (aka Hans Koster). After we finally made it over to Holland via the Stena Line, and were able to pick up our tour in Leiden, Hans was sweet enough to come to our show just to tell us how much he missed us! We start there on February 26th, and there are more shows booked so far in Haarlem and Enschede (The Netherlands), Osterbruck… Continue

I'd like to share with you a podcast from Around the Woodstove - a lovely house concert that I played in Lancaster, Pennsylvania during my tour over there last month.
I"m currently booking tours for the US in October 2011 and have several trips planned to the UK - the next one being for next month. But I"m looking to fill a few dates in the next trip at the beginning of April 2011.
I hope you enjoy this - it was great fun being interviewed by Jason Mundok and his band mate, Tom… Continue

HOOSE NEWS 4
To cheer away the autumnal chill we’re hosting another hoose concert.
are a four piece band from the most musical & cycling friendly city in America - Portland, Oregon.
You could describe them as a 70’s Neil Young meets Darkside Pink Floyd and a good dash of twang chucked in. It’s the first time we’ll have had a drummer in the Hoose too so that going to be interesting.
Check them out… Continue

I'm currently on a 2 month European tour, and so far it's been most excellent. There have been a few sudden cancellations though and I would love to fill those dates with a house concert! I grew up in a family that regularly hosted house concerts int he 70's and 80's and to this day they are one of my favourite things to be a part of. Dates I'm hoping to fill:
- in Germany: either Sunday Oct 24, Monday Oct 25 or Friday Oct 29
- in the UK: Saturday Nov 27

Joe, an old backyard farmer/painter guy who lived down on Fredricks road cursed the energy company’s again. It happened this same way every morning. The ritual went something like this. He’d get up to a cold house in the morning. He’d put on slippers, a robe, stocking hat, and gloves before he traversed the stairs. Coffee came next. Have you ever tried to make coffee with your gloves on? It’s a frusterating experience to say the least. Now comes his morning visit to the toilet.

We were chuffed to find that Andy will be joined by his sister Cathy at our next Grateful Fred Roots and Acoustic Night
on November 7th.
Cathy has sung with andy since a very early age, and has recorded with him on 'Rave On', 'Destination Beautiful' and the 'Andy White' album. She was part of Andy's Irish band around the time of 'Out There' and 'Destination Beautiful', but apart from an appearance at Glastonbury in 1990-something and an ICA show around the same time, this will… Continue

Oatmeal warm on cold day’s.
Before a long frozen walk to work.
A small bit of joy, the tiniest speck of happiness in a gray cloud ridden frozen moment.
My lady friend and I will have ours with raisons, coconut, sunflower nut’s
and soy milk. In a giant colorful bowl. There’s a room in the house
that the plant’s love and so do we. Warm even in Winter we go there and
watch the music of morning mingle with the scent of the oatmeal. When
done right its smell… Continue

We had a great night at Grateful Fred's
on Thursday (7th Oct) with Ashleigh Flynn
. Ashleigh's such a great performer and has such an easy way with her that the audience just loved her. Songs froms her "American Dream
" album hit the spot with our audience and I'm certain that those lucky enough to see her on… Continue

Very even-handed review for Shooting Star from Belgian website Rootstime.be. I never thought Bob Dylan and Neil Young would be named in a review of our CD. I've had to use Google Translate and then make it sound more natural because the literal translation was very messy, but the heart of it (and I hope this is accurate) is as follows:
"From the first song, When I Look In Your Eyes, the tone of the CD is set: harmony vocals, acoustic guitars and tuneful pop songs. An ideal start for… Continue

I recently had the privilege of spending a couple days in the Highlands with Rob Ellen. To say it was fun would be understated. Rob showed me some extremely interesting things, and of course I saw the home of the mysterious Lock Ness Monster himself.
I had a couple performances and the people in the area were very supportive and truly gracious people.
I can say only the same thing for Rob and his lovely partner Ann.
Rob videoed both shows as well as both radio interviews. I am… Continue
