I've been a bit slow getting this out but wanted everyone to know how great the Highland Tour went this summer. First of all, let me thank Mr. Rob Ellen (the man behind the tour) for his friendship and hard work. I've had the pleasure of knowing Rob since about 2005 when my first cd "Fabletown" came out. He has handled all of my PR work throughout the UK, Europe etc since then, including my second cd "Rarely Fall" in 2008. Thanks again Rob!
Ok now the tour. I hit… Continue

I don't usually do alot of blogging, but I thought in this case, I needed to explain the recent sparseness of my calender. Sparse is probably not the correct word. Barren would most likely be a better choice.
About six months ago, I started having some pain in my fingers, when I played guitar, or practiced my guitar playing. Before long the pain became excruciating, and my fingers began to turn red and swell. The symptoms were worse, anytime I picked up ice to put in my glass, or when I… Continue

Just joined this fabulous website thanks to our friend Mike. It's so great to see House Concerts becoming more popular in the UK and Tinderbox would love to be a part of that.
We have a big House Concert Tour in the states in May 2010 but it would be great to arrange something similar closer to home.
We are currently booking for 2010

So many have asked about the weekend held over Labor Day at the Incubator
campus just outside Eugene, Oregon. I thought I would post a link so you could see and take a listen to the seven artists in action. The link has rough cuts without edits, and an MP3 of the final cut. We're into 'hatching' good stuff and these artists stepped it up and birthed a song in a couple of days! Check 'em out: Paul Baker,… Continue

It has been a crazy summer and one of my favorite and most successful musical summers yet. Between performing at Telluride (where I had the opportunity to perform an hour long set on the songwriter stage, a set on the main stage and then later with Sam Bush!), my first festival headline at Bluegrass on the Comstock in Virginia City, NV (and all those ghosts!), NWSS (where I got to perform with the McCoury brothers!), Yarmony Festival (performing with bluegrass folks from across the country… Continue

August 2009 – Issue 85
GOOD LIFE - 5 Stars
Cub Creek Records ccr-1967f
Personal, thoughtful and humorous album full of emotion sung so delicately and handsomely which brings a tear or two to the eyes
Despite originally coming from Washington DC, a place not normally revered for fine country artists, Mark not only tops the list of great artists coming from Washington DC but in fact must be regarded as one of… Continue

With news that there is an award for the best publicity stunt
at the Edinburgh Fringe and realising that this award shows just how hard performers are trying in order to get their show noticed, I decided to make a list of things I have learned from my first show at the Edinburgh Fringe.
As it was my first show I was unaware of the costs… Continue

On wednesday august 12 we had songwriter Adam Klein in the house for a his performance. Adam flew in straight from Uganda, where he was working with a club of students in a project. So you can inmagine that he was tired. But we gave him some rest & relax moments and a nice warm shower did the rest. At showtime Adam was full of energy and gave us a really nice show. His typical voicesound was very… Continue

It's quarter to 6 in the am on Thursday.
The sun is peaking up over my neighbors houses, and I can
hear 2 robins, and a house finch somewhere in the yard.
I find myself wishes lately that I lived somewhere
further away from the city. Someplace were I can see
more than a hand full of stars.
Here is a great Bob Dylan song that I started to cover.
Thanks for coming by

Simply Ministry Business and Marketing Boot Camp!
What stops you from aggressively pursuing your passion and dream for a Christian music ministry? If you're like most folks, it's the age old problem of money and exposure. Many artists are weak in areas like business, finance and marketing. The intricate and delicate balance needed between the humility of ministry and hard-line of business is difficult to define - and even harder to maintain. Consequently, critically important stuff… Continue

Greetings! I am an experienced house concert host from New Orleans, Louisiana. I also represent Celtic American musician Marc Gunn, whose music can be heard to www.marcgunn.com. Marc's been working on a new CD, "Happy Songs of Death." Yup. Much more bluesy than work on the site now - due to his recent move to New Orleans.
Marc will be in the UK in September and would love to do a couple of house concerts there. It's our favorite venue! We provide promotional materials and a house concert… Continue
