2 Gigs, 2 Cities, 150 miles, 1 Headband & Take That

The following is a report on how my poor attempt at paying homage to Status Quo's 5 shows in 1 day went...

6am, well I am convinced this time is illegal so im not going to talk about it. Caught the briefly delayed first train of the day at 7am, thus enabling me to get the 7.41am train to Aberdeen with ease. After consuming one large black coffee I was finally awake.

A gloriously sunny day along the east coast whizzed by only to be replaced with a grey, damp and hot day in… Continue

Just Thinking

Just Thinking

Wanda- "I like rainy dreary day's. They remind me of my time on the island.

It's funny," she continued "cause I hated it when I was there. A little

time and some growing up, and suddenly I realize just how lucky I was."

Grandma- "Why are you always talking like your some kind of wise old sage."

"I mean christ Wanda you're only 45 years old. You should just

go out and have some fun. Pick the best…

Hello Sandra!

I got your note but it mysteriously vanished before I could reply(!?!) - either my total lack of computer skills or the whimsical nature of my computer being likely reasons. Anyway I didn't want you to think I was ignoring you and this is the only remedy that presents itself since your apparantly not on the search-list thing.

Some Press Stuff

Press Kinda Stuff

June 2009

HP Daniels - Musician/Music Journalist - Berlin, Germany (May 12, 2009):

The more I listen to their songs the more I'm enthused. It's just great stuff! And Miss Diana's voice is just outrageous!

If comparisons have to be made, I'd say she sounds more like the great Maggie Bell of long gone Scottish band, Stone The Crows – one of my all time favorites.

Wendy V's Nashville Blend - Radio Show and Blog Spot (May 15,… Continue

Coming to France/Germany/Italy and The Netherlands in October, looking for shows!

Hello folks!

If you know of anyone who might be interested in hosting me for a show during the month of October, 2009 please get in touch. I will be performing solo...here a blurb from my press release!

Linda's busy tour schedule reflects her love for performing having completed 200 shows last year alone. She is a compelling entertainer and her personality and storytelling add an intimacy to her shows regardless of the size of venue. Her evocative and powerful voice is… Continue

The Years Get Shorter, Not Longer

So said Jimmy Buffett. How true it seems to be. I've had a busy recording year... released Americana Blues, an 11 song collection, on my own label, Wilmac Records in January, and almost immediately started working on another album in conjunction with Flyin' Dog Records, a small blues label based in Houston, Texas. You take opportunities when they present themselves. I spent much of last year touring. This year my live performances have been mostly in California, where I live, and Texas,… Continue

The Antarctic Winter

One place that is high on my list of must see places is Antarctica. I would love to experience this fragile and awe inspiring landscape first hand.

A friend of mine Kirk Watson (a seasoned Antarctica veteran) is filming his experiences of life from the UK base at Rothera over the next year. If you ever wanted to see what an Antarctic Winter would be like and to find out what people who live there get up to check out Kirk Watson’s blog on life in Antarctica. The blog covers not only… Continue

Ray Bonneville's Gig

Last night we had a great gig of Canadian American Ray Bonneville in our livingroom. About 15 people did go exiting during the songs. Ray is a great performer, his lyrics mostly have a message in it and his guitar playing is unique. He shows the art of not to fill in too much. That's why his way of performing is relaxed and a great pleasant to hear. We like to have Ray back in… Continue

Granddad

Since october last year I am the granddad of my first born grandchild. Her name is Rose. And as you can aspect, I adore her. It is great to see how a little human being grows up into a fine little child. Last week she became her first teeth, without crying, simple like that, amazing. Such a wonder of nature, makes you think about your own life. From being a child to being a granddad now. It gives me a warm and satisfied feeling. Being a granddad… Continue

It really is something when someone does a music video for you.

An incredible honor, I think. Please view the video for album track "What You've Seen", produced by Greek artist Katie Mavromati.

The song is about my time in Malaysia. I was there when the tsunami in 2004 swept away people from the beaches around Penang Island, particularly on the Northern Coast. There in Georgetown, I was in the CHEONG FATT TZE MANSION, a… Continue

The beauty of a review...

The beauty of a music review is that words of praise sustain an artist when little else is coming in materially. Don't you find? While a critical mass is building, sometimes you're just slogging away at it: making calls, sending emails (last night for me it was an all night effort to contact every Arab/Palestinian filmmaker I could find online, and what an adventure that was).

The randomness of this business never ceases to amaze me, at least in the formative stages of building one's… Continue

Aint Got The Do Re Mi

There is a growing concern amongst some fellow performers on the Glasgow music scene that they are continually being taken advantage when it comes to playing live.

The problem is the overwhelming majority of original music venues in Glasgow and it seems the rest of the UK do not pay the artists for doing so. This often undervalues the service and entertainment that is being provided.

Whilst it is important to have a platform for artists starting out to gain experience and… Continue

My performance at the old turf fire!

Hi folks,

I'm just home from a wonderfull time seranading with the strains of my harp at 'Mellon House' which is situated at the Ulster American Folk Park Omagh, N. Ireland. I had settled myself down close to the turf fire to play and sing some old folk songs.

The audience were attentive and as I engaged with them, they chatted away to me asking quite a few questions on the history of the harp, how long it takes to master it and where the actual sound comes from when I… Continue
