Songs in the Key of Life Sharp

I am a serious music listener.

By which I mean, of course, that I am an anorak. I hunker beside the stero, clutching the sleeve notes in a sweaty fist and nod knowingly everytime I convince myself that I, king of the fans, understand every allusion, reference and sly invocation projected by my favourite artists.

I think the term "wanker" also applies.

I've been this way all my life. I like to be in on the joke - thus side-stepping much of the worry that I am the… Continue

How To Get Discovered In Christian Music

From the Founder and President of Incubator Creative Group, Nate Sakany.

I love to help early stage Christian musicians develop their ministries to the thriving level. And I've been doing so for 30 years. It's all about discovering, defining, developing and deploying your vision to reach your world through the power of music. Most of what is taught about the music business won't help you at the emerging stage. The realities for… Continue

ulapool, glasgow, and 1 date left!

I'm thrilled to be heading across the pond soon to play some music in Scotland, England, and the Netherlands (my first visit to Amsterdam!)

I've recently confirmed that I'll be playing on the Medicine Show with Rob Ellen in Ulapool, his radio show, and then live that same evening at the Argyle Hotel, Ulapool, all happening on May 19. The previous day I'll be doing a virtual house concert with Dave Sidley at the Music Shed. I've played house concerts before, but this'll be my first… Continue

Tim Scott UK Tour - This is what it's all about

Hey everybody,

It's official !!! I'm on way over mid July thru who knows how much off August? It's my first tour overseas and to say I'm excited about it would be an obvious understatement. I've had the good fortune of having the help and support of Mr Rob Ellen whom we all know. It has been thru him that I have been introduced to a huge group of new friends. Fellow… Continue

Fumbling around......

Am not quite sure how to work this site yet so please excuse the fumbling around....

We happened upon The House Concert European Hub earlier this week as a result of looking for possible venues to play during our visit to mainland Europe in late May / early June. It looks like a great initiative!

We're from Stroud, Gloucestershire, UK. Stroud has become a location synonymous with music and the arts generally and is a place… Continue

Open Guitar Tunings

Here's some of my Open Guitar Tunings:

drop D

drop the bass E down to D.

drop the second and first string a whole tone each.

open D

the G is now dropped to an F,

making a D major triad in the fourth, third and second strings.

open G

think that the "bottom" of the tuning is the fifth string,

and the low D is "extra".

all of the cords you play in open D are… Continue

Touring the UK and Ireland with Billy Bragg (parts 1, 2 and 3)

Part 1

I snapped this shot of the audience just moments before taking the stage in Leeds.

This is part 1 of the many disorganized posts that I'll be throwing together in the next few days. I'll be chronicling my month long tour with everyone's best friend, Billy Bragg.

The tour started out with United Airlines losing my luggage (it ended the same way). This is but one of many times that they've lost my luggage over the years. This made it… Continue

Remo Ricaldone's review for!

Robert Coleman Trussell is a Texas singer originally from Kingsville, but currently residing in Kansas City. His debut 2005 “Texas Gothic” CD was a successful Roots and Americana work both in Europe and the States. The acoustic/country “Juice and Jive” has now arrived to continue this folk and blues conversation. Great singing and lyrics stand out in this CD; it's spartan, yet intriguing… Continue
