Getting the band back together! The three of us have not toured together as a group since 2011. This year, Nelson Bragg and Duncan Maitland will join me for a three week UK blitz of high-energy, high-flying acoustic folk-pop, ala The Byrds, Nick Lowe, Kirsty MacColl and the Beatles.
Nelson's day job is percussionist-vocalist with The Brian Wilson Band, currently on tour and ending up in Newcastle, where we'll start the tour. Besides…Continue

She's Texas and I'm Portland, but we both got the bug from Liverpool.
Tish Hinojosa and I start our spring UK/Europe tour Monday night with a show right here in Southern California, at Altadena's Coffee Gallery. Here's a little write-up from the Pasadena Weekly:

There's nothing like seeing the world with a guitar and a good girlfriend! On last year's European tour, I joined forces with my dear friend Tish Hinojosa, from Austin Texas, who was living in Hamburg at the time. Tish just released a marvelous new album, 'After the Fair,' which she recorded in Berlin with producer Moe Jaksch. We had a blast traveling together, along with our Dublin mate Duncan Maitland, from London to Glasgow to the highlands of Scotland, and then throughout Germany to…Continue

Having returned to the mainland via the Stena Line, I've been busy with radio sessions and last night''s premiere music event at the new Peter en Leni's Podium Cafe in Steendam. Next Friday I perform solo at the Rock Classic Cafe in Brussels, and I've just added a gig at McMuller's Irish-American Pub in Linnich-Kofferen, near Cologne, where I'll be joined by the fabulous Roland Wolff. I hear they serve great hamburgers and ribs! If you're in the neighborhood, please…Continue

Anny is back for her fifth European tour in May 2013. Her new album, January, once again combines Brill Building hooks with a storyteller’s eye for detail. Ghosts who haunt the corners of New Orleans’ French Quarter, winds carrying volcano dust from Iceland, boys who yearn to join the circus and the mystifying shards of our own broken-glass hearts – all are woven together into a travelogue of risk, resilience and renewal. This latest flight of songs will hook you from the…Continue

Hey all - I'm always looking for new earth to scorch, and yet I must sadly confess that I haven't spent quality time in Texas for several years. The last time through (2004) I was touring with the late and lovely Duane Jarvis, mostly as an excuse for him to drive his Toyota van from Nashville to Los Angeles (where he was moving back after the Tennessee leg of his career...). We had a beautiful trip down Highway 61, with a stopover at a small club in Louisiana where we stayed in cute little…Continue

The shows are coming together for our next tour! Check the Calendar page on my website for confirmed dates in The Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, Scotland and England. There will be more to come as things get nailed down and we fill in the in-betweens. Tnis is our most ambitious trip ever - we will criss-cross England and be in and out of Heathrow (our old stomping ground!) more times than I care to think about. Along the way will be joined by musical mates to include Roland Wolff, Duncan…Continue

My friend Rich McCulley was hosting a night of Christmas songs at the Cinema Bar in Culver City. "But all the songs have to be original," he said. I love Christmas music - Phil Spector's Christmas album is in my Top Ten, and that's all-time, not just holiday music - but I've never been able to write anything about the holiday that made sense. But I did find inspiration and came up with something that really spells it out for me. As soon as I wrote the song I knew we had to record it and get…Continue
