Listen again to the great Ralph McLean chatting to Hub founder Rob Ellen on BBC Radio Ulster about his quest to encourage concerts in peoples own homes, when the Medicine Show toured Ireland this year with Chuck Hawthorne and Libby Koch (featuring interview and session with them too) 35 minutes into the show.(click picture)
Dear House Concert Hub Community.
Well we have topped 2500 members, true the vast majority are artists looking for gigs, but we have members in every continent and just about every city across Europe, that's someone that understands the trail of the independently minded musician and how important house concerts and other listening room venues are anywhere anyone of us might want to travel. It will be our 7th year in 2016. I thank you all for your fraternity and support here please do read on I think together we can do more.
I feel we should concentrate on 2 objectives at this point.
Whilst its true most hosts don't do many more than a few show each year and are not so willing to join here for fear of an avalanche of requests, I do know many many of them do check in to check out who's booking, so please do keep posting your blogs with availability and tour windows, I will feature and blast those through our growing social and conventional media networks and continue to support your tours on The Radio Show and Flyinshoes Review.
However I would like to be doing more hands on with hosts, its been a while since I've coached anyone here although I'm hearing of more house concerts every week I feel we could all do more together and use this facility more to do it.
So here's what I would encourage us to do.
Sadly we won't be at Folk Alliance in Kansas City this year (maybe next) but we will be sending out our traditional Media CD to 100 key radio supporters across Europe and via drop box to community radio and the best podcasters. The idea is these releases stimulate and help maintain the House Concert Scene in general and publicise members releases and tour window across the media traditional and social, in time for the spring touring season. They go out in January and I work hard to make sure the House Concert scene gains purchase and the individual artist gain traction from the media good will we have have all cultivated.
The cost is £100 ($150) and applications are now open, the spots do fill up quick and first to apply get the lead off tracks first come first on the CD. let me know by return please email@example.com or here in a PN.

I do hope some or all of this is of interest and look forward to your thoughts.
