Listen again to the great Ralph McLean chatting to Hub founder Rob Ellen on BBC Radio Ulster about his quest to encourage concerts in peoples own homes, when the Medicine Show toured Ireland this year with Chuck Hawthorne and Libby Koch (featuring interview and session with them too) 35 minutes into the show.(click picture)
Hello, House Concert Hub! Kentucky-based Americana yodeler/musical saw player looking to fill in some dates on a quick tour early next year. The plan is to fly into Edinburgh around Feb 26 and looping down south and back up, aiming to fly home from Edinburgh on March 9. I've got Feb28, March 1 & 2 booked, but would love to fill the rest with house concerts.
Louisville accordionista/yodeler/string-player/pianist BRIGID KAELIN returns to the UK in February/March 2015. She's toured the country multiple times as a solo artist, but has also played accordion/vocals/musical saw in the UK for: Adam Holmes, Elvis Costello, and [the late] Nick Keir, among others. She's a great performer with fun original songs, lots of great road stories to share, and she wants to play your house concert. Alt-country cabaret, witty wordcraft, fun songs, plus some yodeling if you're nice. (See one-sheet below for more info!)
Could someone out there on this lovely House Concert Hub host us on one of the bold dates? Open to staying longer or coming earlier for a great gig. Also, I'll play any song you like on the musical saw :)
Feb27: looking for a date in Northumberland, perhaps? Somewhere between Edinburgh and Whitby?
Sat Feb 28: Whitby - confirmed house concert
Sun March 1: Bournemouth - confirmed house concert
Mon March 2: Bristol - confirmed house concert
Tues March 3: looking to play London, OR to start heading back north, so somewhere along the M6, perhaps?
Wed March 4 looking in Scotland for March 4, 5, 6, please? But open to ideas...
Thurs March 5: Scotland?
Fri March 6 Scotland?
Sat March 7: We were hoping for a house concert in Edinburgh this night - have some calls in, but nothing confirmed.
Here's the one-sheet for the tour, and I'm happy to provide more info or answer questions:
