Here's some more information on the duo.
One of the most highly rated duo’s in the country, Wingin’ It deliver a fiery, energy fuelled array of acoustic music styles. Weaving effortlessly between Bluegrass, Gypsy Jazz, Folk and Pop, their performances are sure to capture the imagination.
Having won a coveted “Danny Kyle” Award at Celtic Connections, the duo have gone on to dazzle audiences ever since. Recently they performed a specially commissioned piece of music to a sold out Perth Concert Hall.
Propelling the acoustic guitars and mandolin to new levels of expression and excitement their live show is at once an informal, life affirming and memorable musical experience.
“Two as competent musicians as you could wish to find”
“Above all, these guys are entertainers. The technique is masterful, the musical discipline exemplary, but what comes across most strongly is not the dazzling display of flatpicking, but that they are having real fun on stage, and that they can communicate this effortlessly to the audience”
Richard Lindsay - Ullapool Guitar Festival
‘they were a dazzling, jazzy, very funny, breath of fresh air. They left some traditionalist mouths hanging open, but the boys absolutely nailed it.’
Stuart Morrison, The Herald
Dazzling interplay between guitar and mandolin and mesmerising jazzy riffs are the band's hallmark and they had the balls to knock out a fantastic acoustic version of Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall" to a folkie crowd champing at the Fisher-bit - respect!
Tom Harland, Garden Sessions
"Two brilliant young guitarists. These guys really impressed me with their musicianship and stage presence. I think they're great."
Organiser, Gosport & Fareham Easter Festival
and Wickham Summer Festival (Hampshire)
