KENT NIELSEN (DK) – Ukulele Folk Punk / Singer/Songwriter!

„Lyrics like a punch in the gut, painfully reminding you of your own wounds“. (Christian Elsrodt / Folker! Magazine)

Kent Nielsen is Danish but living in Lübeck (North Germany). He’s got a history as an author, percussionist, shoe shop clerk, record label guy, mail order honcho, night porter and ukulele player a. o.
But there’s one thing he’s been doing for ages – and that’s singing.
He just completed an old project – his first „solo album“. Roughly half of the roots rock colored Songs were written together with Stefan Kletetzka (DEEP RIVER), some are brand new while a couple Dates back to Kent and Stefan’s time in ONE BAR TOWN. Four covers were added, one by JOHN HARTFORD and another three originally written by GLEN CAMPBELL, EDDIE & THE HOT RODS and C.V. JØRGENSEN featuring Kent solo on the ukulele. Three more songs, drenched in Mod and 60s sounds, were written together with Helge Reich (JAM TODAY). The album also includes guest appearances from George Whitfield (FIDDLEBOX, ex-PRESSGANG) and Martin Wenk (CALEXICO, NADA SURF, JUDITH HOLOFERNES).

Dear Grigor:

I See Hawks In L.A. are releasing two records in May: our own and an EP collaboration with the Good Intentions which turned out quite well. We plan on touring UK/Ireland this summer.

It's a bit of short notice (our agent Bob Butler of Grapevine has sadly passed away), but if you have a slot for us we'd love to play one of your concerts. Our tour window is July through mid-August, though we could head over earlier if that's when most of the shows are happening.

Rob Ellen will give us a hearty recommendation! We are southern California's leading alt country folk band. We've done 3 or 4 tours of UK/Ireland, have been in the Euro Americana chart top ten 3 times, and have Geraint of G Promo PR on board. He got us great press and BBC appearances last time and will be invaluable in promoting live shows. My email is below, can send you our bio and sneak preview of our forthcoming CDs.

Here is a listening link to all seven of our previous releases and live shows:

Hello Grigor, I'm an Alaskan artist who'll be in the UK this August; Brit artist Jen Armstrong will be opening for me. I looked at your website and wow, what a wonderful place! Reminds me of home.

Will you consider my music for your Loft audience?

My music is available to stream for free at Spotify and it can also be sampled on iTunes or at my website. I look forward to hearing from you about the possibilities.

Hi Grigor,
My name is Susan Lindfors Taylor, I manage Eric Taylor and our office of Blue Ruby Music.
Cited as one of today's top performing songwriters, Eric tours throughout the U.S. and Europe every year. I’m working on his fall European tour, and I'm inquiring about arranging a concert for him at The Loft Venue.
Eric's UK tour timeframe will be September 29 to October 13. Would anything in that timeframe work for you?
I'm including some audio/video links below. You can also find a lot of good information on our Blue Ruby Music web site:
I hope we can arrange a concert, I look forward to hearing from you,

Hi Grigor,

I was wondering if I could get a moment if your time to listen to something?
It's the title track from Terry Emm's new album. I am booking shows for Terry in 2014 and thought he might suit the music events you put on.
Terry's music has recently had airplay from legendary DJ Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2. Bob described Terry's music as 'excellent, excellent music' and has had him in for a live session. BBC 6 Music DJs Gideon Coe, Chris Hawkins and Tom Robinson have also spun his tracks regularly alongside many regional stations. Terry has recently shared the stage with the likes of; Amy Wadge, Richard Walters, Danny & The Champs, Jackie Leven, Judith Owen, Red Dirt Skinners and many others.
MOJO magazine have described his music as 'pastoral, romantic and lit musically by summer rays…no routine singer- songwriter offering but some-thing totally engaging in melody and lyric' in a 4 star review.
It'd be interesting to see what you think to his music and great if you could consider him for a show.
Thanks very much,
Theo Hall

Bonnie Bishop Looking for Gigs 2-15 August

Her soulful compositions and raspy voice outlive her personal reinvention as she finds driving rock rhythms in her guitar and piano, the latest addition to cadre of talent.  Bonnie wrote the new material with a simple notion in mind: You have to love yourself before you can fully love and be loved by anyone else.

Bonnie frequently writes with some of the most lauded songwriters in Nashville including Mike Reid, Al Anderson (NRBQ), Lee Roy Parnell, Pat McLaughlin and Seth Walker. “Not ‘Cause I Wanted To,” a song she co-wrote with Anderson, was recently recorded by her musical hero Bonnie Raitt for Raitt's "Slipstream" album released this past April -- a dream come true for Bishop.

hi folks,

My name's Davey Byrne and im a musician who performs under the title of 'Another Disco Party' (My birhname was already taken!) . Im currently trying to put together a project with a good friend of mine, Grant George, of indie rock band 'The Barents Sea'.

Our plan is to hit the road in April, just ourselves and our guitars and play acoustic sets in as many places as humanly possible over the course of a week or so, and document the entire trip with the intention of putting together a documentary. We currently have a facebook page setup dedicated to the project here!/pages/Another-Music-Documentary/194535060563714?v=info .

We're not looking for any financial gain from any of these events (although of course donations and help with expenses, even a hot meal, are welcome).

Id be really so so grateful if you can help out in any way, or point us in the direction of some people who would be interested in helping us out. Likewise if you could pass this information on to as many people as possible that would be fantastic.

Kind regards,

Davey Byrne

My name is Dave Hughes, I'm a folk singer from Glasgow. I'm looking for new places to play, and so I thought I'd leave a wee comment here.

My music is influenced by the singer songwriters of the 1960s (Phil Ochs, Dylan, Seeger) but also by the spirit and passion of Punk rock. I write socio-political songs, some of which have been covered by othe artists and one has even found it's way in to a Lancaster English Lit class!

Anyways, I love playing to new audiences (who doesn't) and would love to come and play for you, so please get in touch. You can message me here, or with my email (changing the -at- to an @ sign!).

Hope you’re having a great day. Just wanted to drop you a line to tell you a little about Roosevelt Bandwagon:

Roosevelt Bandwagon's personnel currently reside in London, UK. The band comprises a fluid line-up of extremely experienced musicians who have been writing, recording and touring internationally in various guises for many years. The ethos is to play the music that comes most naturally to its members with absolutely no consideration whatsoever for the trends, fashions and formulae of the commercial music industry.

Having played house concerts many times in the States in years gone by we love the idea of the House Concert Hub – it is certainly more focused than other social networking sites and far more friendly!!!

We’re currently doing sessions for a full length album which should be ready by May of this year. In the mean time, we have put out the ‘Train Roll On’ EP. We have a limited edition of free pressings which we’re mailing out to those people who request it – hurry and drop us a line before we run out! Tracks can also be heard on our home page/ visit us on myspace: where you can download the tracks for free.

Do please drop us a line – we’d love to hear your thoughts on our music/ have you as a friend.

Best wishes & have a great weekend.
