Hello,

I’m constantly looking for gigs and any tips would be greatly appreciated! Everything's of interest: Club gigs, open mike nights, festivals, house concerts, prisons, funerals, baptisms - weddings not so!

KENT NIELSEN (DK) – Ukulele Folk Punk / Singer/Songwriter!

"Echoes of JON LANGFORD and RYAN ADAMS. There's something more immediate about this stripped-down version of Kent Nielsen". (R2 Magazine (UK) / Peter Tomkins)

Kent Nielsen is Danish but living in Lübeck (North Germany). He’s got a history as an author, percussionist, shoe shop clerk, record label guy, mail order honcho, night porter and ukulele player a. o. But there’s one thing he’s been doing for ages – and that’s singing. At the end of 2016, he completed an old idea – his first „solo album“. Roughly half of the roots rock colored songs were written together with Stefan Kletetzka (DEEP RIVER), some were brand new while a couple dated back to Kent and Stefan’s time in ONE BAR TOWN. Four covers were added, one by JOHN HARTFORD and another three originally written by GLEN CAMPBELL, EDDIE & THE HOT RODS and C.V. JØRGENSEN featuring Kent solo on the ukulele. Three more songs, drenched in Mod and 60s sounds, were written together with Helge Reich (JAM TODAY).  The album also includes guest appearances from George Whitfield (FIDDLEBOX, ex-PRESSGANG) and Martin Wenk (CALEXICO, NADA SURF, JUDITH HOLOFERNES).

The following tour took Kent through: Germany, Switzerland, England, Denmark, Belgium and the Netherlands. Incl. festivals such as: Rebellion Blackpool (three years in a row), Kirstyfest 2017 (UK), Thinking Pink Festival (UK), Punk Rock BBQ (UK), Rebellion Amsterdam (NL), Nostalgurato Fest (DK, twice) and the Winterswijk Ukulele Hotspot (NL), just to name a few. More countries are being planned for 2019.

„Between the HOT RODS and CALEXICO." (Chris Elstrodt, Folker Magazine)

Out in November, his autobiographical memoir: 'How I didn't turn out a dancer' (A co-production between the German Ventil Publishing House and Ox-Fanzine, ISBN 978-3-95575-103-6).

Hello from Ireland Andrea,

I am new to the house concert scene and would love to perform a house concert in Germanyin the spring/summer 2018. I am a musician & and music therapist from Ireland and through my experiences of travel, education in both ethnomusicology and music therapy my music covers a lot of genres such as reggae, folk and Khoomi (Mongolian throat singing). My live shows incorporate techniques of mindfullness and self-inquiry which can develop a dialogue between myself and the audience related to the human condition, shamanism, music and healing and the relationship between music, self awareness and self- discovery.

Hi Andrea,
My name is Stuart Markus, and I am with an Americana/Roots harmony trio from New York called Gathering Time. Our latest CD, Keepsake, was #1 on Folk DJ-List (the international folk radio chart) in March 2016 with the #1 song and 5 other songs in the top 25, making us the #1 artist for the month also; we came in at #4 for the year.
Since 2012, we have often toured in partnership with an the roots/Americana singer Mara Levine. Her CD Jewels and Harmony was #1 for January 2013 and #3 for that year on the international Folk DJ chart. Typically, we do a set of our own songs as well as backing Mara on hers.
We have been booked together to play a music festival in Ehingen, Germany (near Stuttgart) on Saturday, April 14, 2018, and we're hoping to book a tour in Europe to run from around Saturday, April 7th to Sunday the 15th of next year.
The best way to describe Gathering Time is as a co-ed Crosby, Stills & Nash, with a bit of the Byrds and a jot of Joni Mitchell. Mara Levine is best known as an arranger and interpreter of American traditional songs and those by songwriters of the '60s like Tim Hardin, Leonard Cohen and Paul Simon, as well as contemporary ones.
It is worth noting that we are capable of doing either shows of mostly original songs (or in Mara’s case songs by modern songwriters) OR specialty tribute theme shows entirely of '60s American folk and folk-rock. (Information on those is listed at the 'specialty shows' page of our website. Whichever a venue prefers, we're happy to do.
Full bios, photos, music and videos of Gathering Time are available at www.gathering-time.com, www.youtube.com/gatheringtimetrio and
www.soundcloud.com/gatheringtime; information on Mara (and her music) are available at www.maralevine.com.

Hello Andrea!

I'm Joanna Weston, an English singer-songwriter originally from London, now living in The Netherlands. I would love the chance to travel Europe in 2016 and meet many new people and perform my original contemporary folk style songs either solo or with other band members.

In 2014 I released my debut studio album ‘INSIDE OUT’ which is a collection of 'feel good' songs you’ll want to hear time and time again:

.. and here is a video link to 'Amy' taken from my earlier EP 'Pieces of the Puzzle', which tells the story of life long friendship: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OInbbsv9CY

I hope you enjoy listening and I look forward to hearing from you about all the possibilities.

Hello Andrea,

My name is Paul Hogeterp and I am a musician/songwriter from Hamilton, Canada.  In November 2014, I released my debut solo record under the moniker Low Country Hill.  The self-titled record was produced by Dave King at his lovely Barn Window Studio on the outskirts of Hamilton.  I am pleased that Pat Sansone from Wilco and Bill Dillon (Joni Mitchell, Robbie Robertson, Peter Gabriel) lent their playing and artistry to the record.  Recently, Low Country Hill received a 2015 Hamilton Music Awards nomination in the Roots/solo category and was a Hamilton regional finalist in CBC Searchlight 2015.

I've been playing solo shows (and occasional full band performances) in central Canada throughout 2015 and hope to tour The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany in late February/early March 2016.  I've very much enjoyed playing house concerts in Canada and would love to make house concerts the primary focus of a tour in Europe.

Please check the links below to find out more about Low Country Hill:

Thanks for your time, Andrea.  Looking forward to hearing from you.
Kindly,
Paul

Dear Andrea, hello. My name is Ivor Game, a singer and songwriter from London. I play lots of acoustic shows across the UK and beyond, including The Netherlands, releasing albums and singles along the way. I have enjoyed nice radio play too, from BBC6 and other BBCs, to national across Australia, Japan, Europe and America. I have also been played a few times on The Netherlands AVRO, Radio 2 and Acoustic FM and have had nice reviews in New Folk Sounds Magazine. I also recently enjoyed a lovely review for my album Dizzy Spells on Denmarks Gaffa.de and I think I may have been played on Alex Madsens P4 radio show. I love playing my little songs to cosy rooms, and have played many a small coffee bar, and intimate spaces before. You can hear lots of songs, and see a few videos like I Like Being at Home, on http://www.ivorgame.com and more songs on http://www.soundcloud.com/ivorgame. I hope you like the tunes and can consider me for a house concert. Thank you. Hope to hear from you. Kindest regards, Ivor. Ivor Game  ivorgame@btinternet.com

Hi there! Im doing a tour of Holland and Germany starting in just a week and unfortunately a few shows got cancelled recently (partly due to the German law that doesnt allow live music in public during Easter!) so Im reaching out to see if there's a possibility of doing a few concerts on April 14, 15, 17 or 18.

Here's a review (in German) of a show we played last week in Ritterhude: http://www.weser-kurier.de/region/osterholz_artikel,-Hippie-Momente-im-Auesaal-_arid,817095.html .

Hi Andrea,

I was wondering if I could get a moment if your time to listen to something?
It's the title track from Terry Emm's new album. I am booking shows for Terry in 2014 and thought he might suit the music events you put on.

Terry's music has recently had airplay from legendary DJ Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2. Bob described Terry's music as 'excellent, excellent music' and has had him in for a live session. BBC 6 Music DJs Gideon Coe, Chris Hawkins and Tom Robinson have also spun his tracks regularly alongside many regional stations. Terry has recently shared the stage with the likes of; Amy Wadge, Richard Walters, Danny & The Champs, Jackie Leven, Judith Owen, Red Dirt Skinners and many others.
MOJO magazine have described his music as 'pastoral, romantic and lit musically by summer rays…no routine singer- songwriter offering but some-thing totally engaging in melody and lyric' in a 4 star review.
It'd be interesting to see what you think to his music and great if you could consider him for a show.
Thanks very much,
Theo Hall

Hello, and greetings from far-off north central Texas. In 11 months - yes, 11 months - I will be making my second trip to The Netherlands. Arriving in Amsterdam on 16 May, I have a house concert in The Hague on the 17th. After that, during the week of the 26th-31st, I will be in the Groningen area (Groningen, Winschoten, Nieuweschans). As you can see, at the moment there is a bit of a gap in the schedule. If it is possible to work in a date during that gap, I would be most grateful. There is also a vast emptiness in the schedule after the week of the 26th-31st, so . . . My page here on the Euro House Concert & Acoustic Music Club Hub will tell you a bit more about me, there are also some videos and songs there. My two most recent CDs - "Apple (Songs for Dave)" and "Dreams Can Cost You Everything" may be heard for free and in their entirety at https://www.soundcloud.com/bopadubill. From time to time, a few other songs - demos, new tracks, things from the archives - are also posted there. Thank you for your time, Bill Parker

Hi Andrea

I am looking for shows in very early September 2013 for USA/California-based acoustic finger-style guitar player Brian Gore (see http://guitarpoet.com), the 'guitar poet'.
We needs shows in early September ...

SEPTEMBER 2013
Sun  1 to Fri  6   available
Sat 7 and Sun 8 London Acoustic Guitar Show (Olympia) tbc

Brian will be in Germany doing some work with the great guitarist Lulo Reinhardt (grand-nephew of Django) in late August.  Brian is a fluent German speaker and can easily give a full concert or a workshop or masterclass entirely in German.  He could also do this in Spanish, although perhaps a little less fluently.
Brian has a good track record over here since he's also the brains behind the annual touring guitar festival called the International Guitar Night, which Stoneyport has worked for in the UK since 2007.  See http://www.internationalguitarnight.com/.  Brian got IGN going in the USA in 1995 and since 2000 it has become a major North American touring event.

You can hear some of Brian's work at http://uk.myspace.com/guitaristbriangore/music/albums/path-of-least...).

I hope to hear from you soon
