Kent Nielsen is Danish but living in Lübeck (North Germany). He’s got a history as an author, percussionist, shoe shop clerk, record label guy, mail order honcho, night porter and ukulele player a. o.
But there’s one thing he’s been doing for ages – and that’s singing.
He just completed an old project – his first „solo album“. Roughly half of the roots rock colored Songs were written together with Stefan Kletetzka (DEEP RIVER), some are brand new while a couple Dates back to Kent and Stefan’s time in ONE BAR TOWN. Four covers were added, one by JOHN HARTFORD and another three originally written by GLEN CAMPBELL, EDDIE & THE HOT RODS and C.V. JØRGENSEN featuring Kent solo on the ukulele. Three more songs, drenched in Mod and 60s sounds, were written together with Helge Reich (JAM TODAY). The album also includes guest appearances from George Whitfield (FIDDLEBOX, ex-PRESSGANG) and Martin Wenk (CALEXICO, NADA SURF, JUDITH HOLOFERNES).

Hey Carley, I'm in a 4-piece folk group called West My Friend from Canada that will be in your next of the woods this upcoming May 2018 (we'll likely be playing at the Montrose Folk Club), and we'd be very interested in coming to perform at the Pagoda.  It looks like a beautiful spot.  Let me know if you'd be interested in having us?

Hi Carley, The duo I perform with, Stray Local based in North Carolina, USA, will be going on their second European tour in the Summer of 2018 and we would love to set up house concerts in the U.K. through the month of June. We'd love to be considered for one of the concerts you host in North Scotland.

Last summer we traveled across France and Germany playing festivals and house concerts and would like to explore the U.K. and share our music there next summer. We have played countless house shows across the USA; it is our favorite way to perform because of the intimate atmosphere and personal connection you make with those attending. We perform original music in an americana/folk style with a few traditional appalachian tunes as well. Our instrumentation is guitar, banjo, mandolin, and vocal harmonies. We look forward to going on another adventure and sharing our music along the way!

Hi Carley,

Hope your good.

Im working with a band called A Different Thread who are looking to book in a house concert tour. They would love to play The Pagoda if possible!

Their stuff is below and it would be great to see what we can do together.

A Different Thread - Released on 15th April

Bio: ‘A Different Thread’ consists of travelling singer and songwriter Robert Jackson, and versatile classical cellist Isaac Collier. With a distinctive voice, bluesy harmonica and rhythmic guitar picking,  Jackson’s songs cleverly weave together adventure, bitter romance and synchronicity with “thought provoking, well crafted lyrics” (Gordon Giltrap). Collier’s enchanting and often improvised playing gives this folk duo a refreshing and impulsive edge.

Let me know your thoughts on the music.

Thanks

Chris
